The Oscar nominees have been announced and though I haven’t had a chance to look at every category, I was really pleased that Elling, one of my favourite films from the Toronto International Film Festival, has been nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Of course, it will lose to Amelie, but still, it’s a nice honour, and hopefully it means the film will be available for more people to see.

The Sad Truth About Google Spoofing™
The sad truth is that my Google Spoofing™ is already working. My Sunday traffic has doubled. Now, if only I can turn those “Naked Britney Spears” seekers into cultured, intelligent readers of Consolation Champs, I will have improved both their lives and mine!

Ok, what the heck am I doing? Well, I’ve noticed that probably half of my daily visitors arrive here from the wonderful tool which is Google. And I’ve realized that weblogs like mine are crawled regularly for updated content. I get hits from Google sometimes within a few days of posting on a topic. So, my (sad) theory is that by posting popular search topics at regular intervals, I can drive my traffic up to, say, Davezilla levels. 😉
