If you are remotely interested in economics and history, PBS has made their three-part series, Commanding Heights, available to watch online. It says the video will be available for thirty days after the television broadcast, so I don’t know how long it will still be there, but the website itself is an incredibly packed resource in itself. In fact, the whole PBS website could occupy me for weeks. It has joined the Library of Congress site as one of my favourite haunts when I’m in need of a history fix. (Thanks, Brent!)

Crusading Granny?
In church yesterday morning, an older woman was reading a passage in which she was supposed to say “a young man marries a young woman.” Instead, she read, “a young man marries a young man.” I had a little giggle. Did she slip up or was she secretly a crusading granny? Meanwhile, across town, two gay couples wed. Coincidence?
